 Remand in Pakistan means to hand over the custody of the accused. The accused can be handed over to the police or to the jail authorities. It is up to the court to decide whether the accused should be handed over to the police or jail authorities.  When the accused is not required by the police or if the court thinks that the accused is not required by the police, the court can send the accused to jail, which is called judicial remand in Pakistan. The police can also investigate the accused on judicial remand. The police can visit the jail and ask questions of the accused.
